Kathryn fleisher:

Executive Director

Kathryn Fleisher (she/her) is a graduate student at the George Washington University, pursuing a Masters of Public Health in Health Policy. She holds a Bachelor of Philosophy degree from the University of Pittsburgh and founded NMG in the wake of the 2018 Tree of Life shooting, which occurred less than a mile from her Pittsburgh apartment. Originally from Cleveland, Ohio and now living in Washington, DC, Kathryn is deeply passionate about building more just, safe, and healthy communities. At age 16, she began her gun violence prevention organizing while serving in the leadership of NFTY - the Reform Jewish Youth Movement and has been organizing ever since. Kathryn is also a 2020 Harry S. Truman Scholar and former Giffords Courage Fellow.

Ella Healy: National Field Director

Ella is a junior at University High School. She lives in Tucson, Arizona with her younger brother, two parents, dog (Begley), and cat (Morty). She is an avid reader, spanning from Emily Henry to Doris Kearns Goodwin, along with writing pieces for her school paper, the UHS Perspective. She also volunteers at Tucson Village Farm, a local urban farm that works with youth to teach them about agriculture, sustainability, and community. Ella is very excited about working with Not My Generation to further gun violence prevention work.

Fatimata Cham (she/her) is a 20 year old first generation college student originally from the Bronx, New York. Activist. Poet. Gender Equality Advocate, Fatimata one day hopes to see a world built and rooted in justice, compassion and liberation for all people.

MYRIAM ALCALA:

Director of Equity & Inclusion

Myriam Alcala is a third year journalism and creative writing student at the University of Southern California. Based in Los Angeles but originally from Aurora, Colorado Myriam has first hand seen the impacts of gun violence in Black and brown communities. Myriam is currently working on their activism through their podcast "La Lucha" and interns for Eduardo Chavez' podcast "We Are Latinx" focusing on Latinx issues and uplifting Latinx community members.

Lillian Veits:

director of Education

Lillian Veits (she/her) was born and raised in Colorado, where she served on the March for our Lives state board of directors. She is a second year student at Seton Hall University studying International Relations and Diplomacy with a minor in Arabic. She currently works as an intern for Giffords. Upon graduating, Lillian hopes to work in policy development. At university, she serves as a First-Generation Peer Mentor, where she works to make a campus climate more welcoming towards fellow first-gen students. In her free time, you can find her reading or boxing.

Eva ashbaugh:

Director of Education

Eva Ashbaugh (she/her) is a second-year graduate student at the University of Pittsburgh studying International Development with a major in NGOs and Civil Society. Since 2018, she has interned for numerous voter advocacy groups to help educate Pennsylvanians on their rights and how to vote. She also interned with the Foundation of Law and International Affairs to help non-Western academics to become published in the United States and through the Library of Congress. Her most recent work has been with ARYSE, a nonprofit based in Pittsburgh, which serves immigrant and refugee youth. With experiences in canvassing and political research, Eva is passionate about advocating for wider access to human rights and creating a more equitable society.

Addison Moore:

Director of Education

Addison is the Co-Owner of Dolly Queens Moving, a moving company that is owned by and serves the queer and trans community. Before Dolly Queens Moving, Addison was actively involved in advocacy and leadership development by educating community, taking on various leadership positions, and informing local and national policy with organizations such as National Agenda for Black Girls, SMYAL, Not My Generation, and the Young Women's Advisory Council in DC to name a few. Addison's goal in their advocacy and community organizing is to provide education and resources that empower folks to build a community that can combat the oppressive systems that are in place for marginalized identities.

Valerie Gregorio:

Director of Communications

Valerie Gregorio (she/her) is currently working full-time in procurement. She has her Bachelors in Public Policy with minors in Political Science, Sociology, and Dance from St. Mary's College of Maryland and a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Maryland, Global Campus. During her spare time, she loves to volunteer, write for online publications, create content for The Quotes For You Project (@quotesforyouproject), write and research on current news for the Simplified (@nowsimplified), dance, and working out. Recently, she competed in the Miss Maryland USA 2022 and International Ethereal Miss 2022 pageants and was elected to serve as a Council Member on the St. Mary's College of Maryland Alumni Council for the 2022-2023 term. She's passionate about building a better world for everyone as she continues to advocate for gun violence prevention, human rights, mental health awareness, and fighting climate change.

Jessie pritchard:

Director of communications

Born and raised in Philadelphia, Pa, Jessie (she/her) is an undergraduate at the University of Pittsburgh working towards degrees in Communications and Gender Studies as well as a certificate in Nonprofit Management. Growing up in a socially conscious family, she learned the importance of equality and equity at a young age. Jessie is passionate about women’s rights, LGBTQ+ rights, intersectionality, and equity for all. Finding her purpose and passion in helping others, Jessie is excited to work with the amazing NMG team.

Faith Garcia:

Director of policy & advocacy

Faith Garcia (she/her) is a first- generation graduate, Latina, Indigenous, Queer, Woman, who is system impacted. She recently graduated from California State University San Marcos where she obtained her Bachelor's Degree in Political science and minors in Women's Studies and Sociology. In college, Faith focused on civic engagement, inclusive excellence, diversity, equity, social justice, survivors, immigration, defunding and abolishing UPD across the CSU system. She currently works for an organization that focuses on repairing the damages that were created by the War on Drugs. She hopes to continue her work in repairing the harm done to BIPOC and LGBTQ+ communities throughout her career.

Ian Gaskin:

Policy & Advocacy advisor

Ian Gaskins (he/him) was born and raised in Colorado. He attends the University of Colorado-Boulder, where he is double majoring in Political Science and Philosophy with a Classics minor. He began working in gun violence prevention after the Parkland shooting and was an organizer for the March For Our Lives in Denver. Since then, he helped pass Colorado’s Extreme Risk Protection Order (ERPO) law, was a part of the Giffords 2020 Courage Fellow class and worked on Congressman Jason Crow’s re-election campaign. He currently serves on the State Board for March For Our Lives Colorado, Colorado Gun Owners for Safety, and the Colorado Democratic Party Rules Committee.

Ryan yeager:

Ryan (he/him) is a Stamps Scholar at the University of Pittsburgh studying Public Service. He currently serves as the Policy Director of Voters of Tomorrow and is an Education Policy Fellow with The Greater Good Initiative. Prior to joining the Policy & Advocacy Committee, Ryan served as the Mid-Atlantic Regional Coordinator of Not My Generation.

Ritika Kumar (she/her) is currently a graduate student and originally from Atlanta, Georgia where she studied Biochemistry. She has been active in local campaigns and volunteer efforts that center around healthcare, climate change, and PIC abolition. She hopes to present social justice issues, including gun violence, through a public health perspective. In her free time, she likes to spend time with family and friends, hike, and eat plant-based foods!

Molly kleinstein:

Communications advisor

Molly Kleinstein (she/her) is a senior at American University studying Political Science and Communications. Born and raised in New Jersey, she has experience assisting political communications teams at both the state and federal level. Her passions include gun control advocacy, women’s rights, and immigration. Molly hopes to use her outside experiences and multimedia skills to help NMG expand as an organization

Molly (she/her) is a student at the University of Pittsburgh studying political science and economics. She is a member of the Policy and Advocacy Committee. Outside of NMG, she is involved with the Student Government Board, Leading Women of Tomorrow, and Pitt Dance Marathon.
