NMG’s Activism Boot Camp will walk you through the basics of youth activism, community building, and gun violence prevention organizing, providing you with a community of organizers and a hands-on capstone experience in real world organizing. We intend to provide high schoolers and young adults with the opportunity to step into gun violence prevention organizing, and the general activism space, in a mindful and supportive environment. We aim to build a community of young organizers who can genuinely rely on one another and who are prepared with the tools, relationships, and resources to implement original GVP projects.
All experience levels welcome, including no experience!
Program Overview: The 2022-2023 ABC will launch in late-October and meet bi-weekly via Zoom, taking place over the course of 8 months, following the calendar of the typical school year.
The first half of the program will take place from November 2022 to January 2023 and be focused on community building, topical discussions about gun violence and social justice, and opportunities for deep critical thinking about ourselves and the world around us.
